Momoha finally decides to step in and pull a stunt in order to revive the interest of students in the school fair. That girl is on her way to win a Pulitzer award I tell you (but she is definitely not getting an Oscar because her acting is so bad!)

We also learn that Mei has the ability to create a remarkable torque effect with her harisen and she doesn?t mind using fraudulent methods to obtain support for her petition; more reasons why she rocks big time.

One thing that caught my attention in episode 8 was the use of the swastika on the flag. While I knew for a long time that the swastika was one of the symbols of the Hindu religion, I never realised it was also a Buddhist symbol. The swastika in question is called the manji in Japan and the left facing version is often used so as not to confuse it with the right facing manji which is now associated with the Nazi movement. The left facing version is a symbol of love and mercy while the right facing version is a symbol of strength. You learn a new thing everyday!

You know, I just realised something, all five girls in the student council have names that start with an ?M? sound. I wonder if that is intentional.

Can this show get any better? We?ll just have to wait and see. Like I said before, the final verdict totally hinges on the conclusion. The ball is now in ufotable?s court.

I read this article on the Anime News Network. A very interesting and creative approach if I must say so myself. While using manga to promote various functions of Japanese society is not new, this is the first time I?ve heard about employing manga to promote the work of the ministry of foreign affairs. I strongly believe that this guy is behind all this. It?s a shame that his political attitudes can be similar to Shinku?s high and mighty attitudes when it comes to mending relations with China and Korea (amongst other issues).
