Picked Up - In Purple Prose

What better way to recap three minutes of utter fluff than in long-winded prose? Who knows what literary form tomorrow’s episode will bring?

(I love Chii’s Sweet Home - it’s nauseatingly cute and perfect for watching before I go to work when my brain isn’t functioning)

Ahem!

Snow upon cotton enfolded the mewling babe - and ne’er was mewling more appropriate - as Chii drifted through Morpheus’ realm. Thoughts of rest in the bosom of her life-giving mother brought comfort to the small kitten, a vagrant so young and yet so far adrift from home.

Alas, all fantasy is fleeting, and Chii returned to the waking world as day crept, fresh and rosy-fingered, upon him. Yet sleep was replaced with befuddlement - “Where is this?” wondered Chii, her eyes agog with wonder at the enigmatic vista before her. Strange green and blue shapes filled her vision, entrancing Chii with their seductive novelty.

Suddenly, a sound rang out!

“Kitty is moving!”

As Chii rose to her feet, the voice’s high timbre struck a chord of memory. It was the same sound - not only such serendipity, but even the very PERSON who had fallen before him only a short time ago. In his round, shadow-dark eyes, Chii saw a kindred spirit.

Spirits of another kind, however, had come for Chii - large, unfamiliar beings loomed over her miniscule form, startling her into swift current in haste to escape her would-be predators. Yet misfortune piled on misfortune, conspiring against the feline, as she flew into an unsurmountable blockade with no method of egress.

Turning back to face the inevitable, Chii was instead hit with a wave of powerful pungence that cascaded to her brain. The familiar scent intoxicated her, drawing her inexorably closer to discover a receptacle filled with wondrous lactose goodness that the unfamiliar people had offered unto her. Filling herself to satiation from the bowl, Chii fell back upon her back, striking her engorged stomach with a drum beat of plenty - pon! pon! it sounded, once again awakening nostalgia for times spent at home.

With that, Chii was ready to return to her family. Although a strange portal once again obstructed her way, the small child who had fallen before her opened the way and allowed her safe passage to travel. Chii was forced to return to the comfort of her new surroundings, however, as the cruel world she found herself in now sought to vex the kitten ever further. Was it truly coincidence that Mother Nature vent her fury upon the streets outside and canine foes prowled the pavements? Chii did not know, but she chose to wait inside to find out what other horrors might be in store…
